KPL: THE male basketball team from Vientiane Capital proved to be the best amongst all the teams that took part in the Basketball Championship held in the capital between 28 to 30 January.The team from Luang Prabang came in second, followed by the Champassak team. The champion received 1,000,000 kip in cash and a trophy; second prize winner received 800,000 kip in cash and trophy while the third prize winner received 600,000 kip in cash and trophy. The basketball competition was held in conjunction with the 56 th Founding Anniversary of the Lao PeopleĀfs Army. It also seeks to identify competent teams to participate in the 7 th Sports Competition held in Savannakhet province end of the year, said Mr Somsouk Phimmachan, Chairman of the Basketball Federation of Vientiane capital.
