This topic is really useless and non-sense! dear webmaster, before posting such topic please use your own brain first. Before talking about this topic, please look at this website, which has almost nothing useful that much except showing photos of handsome guys ,beautiful sexy girls, etc. The content of your website more than 90% is only about fashion, singers, artists, beauty, sexy stuffs but there is NOTHING FOR PROMOTING EDUCATION at all for Lao young people!!!! your website is promoting MATERIALISM too much and it will spoil Lao new generation for SURE, my dear think about that.

Can we stop and evaluate the economic factors with Laotians living abroad? I think the main reason why Laos flourish economically is the tourism industry. Thanks to the many Laotian Refugees abroad and those who are living abroad after further their studies. Each of us returning to Laos to visit brings thousands of US $$$. I think it only enhances the nation's resource if the elderly Representatives allow the younger generation to be part of the political process.

Classic brain drain, it's happening everywhere in developing country. People with the knowledge and expertise will go overseas for better opportunities.

I haven't read every post but, most of the people here have made a good point. I was born in the US and only recent I have first visited Lao one time. Laos is my roots and yet I'm still scared of her. I'm afraid of her government and how it sometimes over looks policy to line its pockets, how the people which are my own family forget honor and respect and take things selfishly instead of building trust that I will help, or how the country's natural resources seem to be raped with reckless abandonment. It pains me to see my family destroy itself when there are so many bright minds who can make a change. You are looking at the cover if you see a bad King of Nepal. Buddha still lives there does he not. Yes, I have gotten quite use to the comforts of the US but, I want to create those comforts in Laos which is so simple but, change is difficult. I cannot make Laos change but, only show that there are better ways. Greed has stricken the country like an illness. I went to the temple and became a novice for my deceased grandmother and the people around made fun and insulted me because they believe I did not know what hard work is or how to even wash my clothes. I just got to wash my clothes differently but, I can still be taught. I'm not a very smart person and I have never lived in Laos but, I do care. Maybe they're afraid I over look their intelligence. That is far from the truth. I just want to show want I have learned in hopes that it may help. I'm sure there are others like me who just feel lost as to how to help when Laos doesn't feel that the measures taken are right for them. Sometimes I hear the country call out to me in my dreams like the sounds of the afternoon drums but, then my own family won't open the door to let me in. They say I'm strange, I don't understand, and I'm not one of them so give them what gifts I have but, they will care for the House. I'm not giving up yet. . . .
