cuz I am very interested in lao language, to say, I want to read and write lao. so I tried to study by myself and wrote an easy lesson to read lao easily for thai people. fortunatedly, thai and lao language are very close, so the task I must do is to find differences in spelling rules and vocab and that's all

however, it's just my observation, there might be some mistakes. I beg your comments as a native speaker of lao.


I know there have been some conflicts between lao and thai, in many aspects, but once I met lao students in thai university (Thammasat). They are good, so I think that lao people are friendly. If you have any suggestions, please tell me in this topic.

Hey man! don't study Lao language at Asia Free Radio.It is a big mistake do you know? it is not a real lao language--!!. I think it was written by Thai people,or lao people who lives abroad for a very long long time. It is obviously strange lao language. Thanks you very much for your effort to create Lao material reading for Thai. However, I cannot correct it because you use the text that created by Radio Free Asia. There were some mistakes from the text and differ from what we are using now. It is a good idea for you to contact related Lao authority who responsible for education or visit Lao official website. So, you will have a right direction.

One more thing I would like to ask you as you are Thai citizen. Why Thai government allow such RFA broadcast news that against my country? I think many Thai know the objective of this radio station. Will you angry if Malaysian allow such kind of radion broadcast news against you?

I knew from the news that many Thai feel angree with Malaysia concerning the Southern of Thailand, I would like to say that we also have some kind of that feeling too.

I would like to apologize you if you will see some comments from Lao that against Thai. But, I do hope you understand the reason.

I know what this is leading to. Education is not the best subject for some Lao people. It's not so practical in the old days to have too much education. People lived simple lives. Biologically, Lao is not that much different from their neighbors. It's true that the life experience, upbringing, environment, and various factors shape our thinking. Genetic disposition does influence people to some extent, but life experience has more effect on people. It is only in the United States where good things happen. This is true for many cultures around the world. There are so many primitive civilizations in the world that have their lives turned around, once they were uprooted from their native place and raised another way. Laos is not like those civilazations. Even before western influence and influence from outside countries, there were signs of life, art, culture, and a way of life that wasn't so bad at the time and in that part of the world.
