665 LAOTIAN LABOURS TO VERIFY THEIR CITIZENSHIP
665 Laotian labours in CHUMPHON Province have requested the provincial administration for the permission to travel to PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN Province, in order for them to verify their nationality statuses.
Mrs. SUPHAVADEE SAKKHAWATANA, an employment officer in CHUMPHON, stated that the 665 Laotian labours are a part of 896 Laotian labours who have already registered for work permit at CHUMPHON Province. However, they will have to verify their nationality statuses at the province of PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN before October 14th. Most of them are working in the agricultural and fishery sectors.
The Cabinet has set up two policies to solve illegal foreign labour problems. The first policy is to temporarily allow them to stay in the kingdom, and the second policy is to change their statuses to be legalized workers.
