I don't think any Lao people watch Korean drama. It's hard to relate to their culture and their people. Most Korean in the U.S. distant themselves from other Asians and usually associate only with the international crowd. I don't have anything against Korean. I think they are more of an intellectual-business type people and less of entertainers.

People can only appreciate something they know well. Korean has never had any relationship with Southeast Asian before, only white people for the most part. Southeast Asians tend to be receptive to other cultures like Indian dramas and European/American movies, because there were some influence early on in history. And the actors and the actresses are not like the average population. For Korean, the caucasion looking actors and actresses do stand out over the more traditional people.
