Laos sends off students heading to Japan

A FAREWELL reception for the 30 Lao students heading to Japan on scholarships from the Japanese government was held at the Japanese Ambassador's residence last Thursday.
Hosted by Japanese Ambassador Makoto Katsura, the event was attended by Mr Phonemek Dalaloy, Public Health Minister and President of Laos-Japan Friendship Association, and Professor Borsaengkham Vongdala, Deputy Minister of Education.
Of the 30 students, three would be doing their PhD, five would be doing master's degree, three bachelor's degree, 15 advanced level study, and four would be doing vocational training. The students left Laos on 4 April.
