Thailand advanced to the final of the Asean Football U-21 Championship after edging Laos 3-2 in a hard-fought match in Brunei yesterday.
Laos took a shock lead in the18th minute through Southalay Xaysongkham but Thailand equalised almost immediately with a good effort from Sarawuth Janthapan. The score remained 1-1 at half-time.
Five minutes into the second half Preecha Chaokla put Thailand 2-1 up and it looked as this would be enough to put Thailand through.
However, Laos scored a dramatic equaliser in injury time through Vilasack Phothilath to send the game into extra time.
Four minutes into extra time Thailand went ahead through Banluesak Yodyingyong which proved to be the winner.
In the final, Thailand will meet the winner of tonight's match between Burma and Vietnam.
