Vientiane (VNA) - Laos registered a 6.1 percent growth of gross domestic product (GDP) in the first six months of the 2004-05 fiscal year, of which the industrial-handicraft sector rose 11 percent or 27.9 percent of GDP; services, up 7.2 percent or 26.5 percent of GDP; and agro-forestry, up 2.8 percent or 45.5 percent of GDP.
Laos granted licences to 81 projects worth 186.7 million USD in the reviewed period, according to a report on socio-economic development and the state budget presented at the on-going session of the Lao National Assembly.
