STARTING today, Laotians would enjoy visa exemption when traveling to India for not more than 30 days. However, this applies only to those who carry a diplomatic or official passport. For those who over-stay the 30-day limit, they may consult the Lao Embassy in India for approval. This latest visa exemption is a result of an agreement signed between Laos and India on 6 November 2002. On the other hand, the Lao Government has also announced that Brunei nationals traveling to Laos for no more than 14 days need not apply for visa too.
