Recently, there are some snapping foreigners coming in Laos as tourists, have performed illegally against Lao law.
They have spent their US$ 100 banknotes on buying goods or exchanging in the shops in Vientiane capital. While the shops' owners were giving them a change or exchange,. In 2003-2004, Vientiane capital security officials arrested two groups of Turkish Mr Simon Kemud and his family, and Pakistani Mr Chaveskharn and his Turkish members who had involved illegally activities. The two groups have been exiled and not be allowed to interring the Lao PDR.
However, the other illegal operation, for example a jewellery shop has reported that there are two Chinese men, 33 and 27, both are approximately 1.65m tall. They dressed neatly and spoke English came in the shop.

Once asked for gold item worth US$ 30 and used his US$ 100 banknote. While the shop assistant was giving him a change, he began to speak very loudly with unsatisfied temper, pretending not understand the language.

In order to avoid the same negative incidents, officials warned merchants both in Vientiane capital and provinces to concentrate on the shop's security system and urged locals who have seen these two people inform the local officials.
