Yo-Star contest 2005
A STAR will be born at the Lao National Cultural Hall this Saturday at the YO! Star contest, held for the second time in Laos.
According to the organiser, some 132 contestants from Luang Prabang, Savannakhet and Champassak will pit their skills against one another, in singing, dancing and their music talent. The purpose of this contest is to encourage youths to stay away from drugs by engaging in healthy pursuits.
Two winners, a boy and a girl, will walk away with 5,000,000 kip each and a one-year supply of Yo-Most drink.
Popular Lao group Overdance, Aluna and Modern Dance will also be performing on the day.
